Nigeria has maintained its 26th position in the global FIFA rankings, according to the latest update released after the 2026 FIFA World Cup. However, the nation has experienced a slight shift in its continental standing, now occupying the fourth spot in Africa. This adjustment comes despite the team, known as the Super Eagles, not having played an official match since their friendly against Portugal in June, which they lost 2-1.
