Real Madrid confident of securing Rodri signing

Real Madrid’s pursuit of Rodri
Real Madrid are reportedly confident in their efforts to sign midfielder Rodri from Manchester City. The Spanish club is said to be working on a deal for the Spain captain, with expectations that an agreement can be reached. This development follows a shift in Real Madrid’s stance, as they were initially not pursuing the midfielder.
According to reports, Real Madrid was particularly impressed by Rodri’s performances during the World Cup. This led to a change of heart regarding his potential signing. The club is now operating with the belief that Rodri will join them for the upcoming season.
Sources indicate that Manchester City is likely to negotiate a transfer with Real Madrid. This comes as Manchester City has reportedly entered a period of rebuilding following Pep Guardiola’s departure. With more than a month remaining in the transfer window, discussions are expected to progress.
Mourinho’s request and club’s analysis
The interest in Rodri is also linked to José Mourinho, who has reportedly made an explicit request for the midfielder. According to journalist Roberto Gómez, Mourinho is clear about the profile he desires to strengthen the midfield, specifically asking for Rodri.
Despite Mourinho’s strong interest, Real Madrid is analyzing various factors before making a definitive move for the Spanish international. The club is considering circumstances such as the player’s age, although he is currently believed to be at a peak in his career, alongside his physical condition.
In parallel, Real Madrid is also working on other transfer targets. The club is reportedly making progress on a deal for Michael Olise, a French player. This indicates that while Rodri is a key target, the club is exploring multiple options to bolster its squad.

Other transfer market activities
Beyond Rodri and Olise, several other clubs are active in the transfer market. Arsenal is considering a player-plus-cash deal for Atletico Madrid and Argentina striker Julian Alvarez. This potential deal could involve Sweden forward Viktor Gyokeres moving to the La Liga club.
Roma has shown interest in signing Norway winger Oscar Bobb from Fulham, despite his recent move to Craven Cottage from Manchester City six months prior. Meanwhile, Paris St-Germain has not yet submitted a formal bid for RB Leipzig’s Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande, which has reportedly given hope to several other prominent clubs, including Liverpool, Arsenal, Real Madrid, and Manchester City.
Newcastle’s Brazil midfielder Bruno Guimaraes remains a primary target for Arsenal this summer. However, Bournemouth’s England international Alex Scott is also being considered as a midfield option. Arsenal’s offer for Guimaraes is expected to be rejected by Newcastle, though the player is reportedly keen on a move to the Gunners. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is reportedly prepared to pay up to £90m to secure a deal for Guimaraes.
Manchester United is not looking to sell captain Bruno Fernandes, despite speculation linking the Portugal midfielder with a move away from Old Trafford. Additionally, Como is expected to meet with Chelsea to discuss the signing of England defender Trevoh Chalobah, who will not be allowed to leave for less than £30m. Chelsea has also made an initial offer for Bayer Leverkusen and Bosnia-Herzegovina winger Kerim Alajbegovic. Finally, Arsenal and Hamburg are in talks regarding Portugal midfielder Fabio Vieira, who wishes to join the Bundesliga club after a loan spell there last season.
