Real Madrid’s bid for Yan Diomande reportedly rejected by RB Leipzig
Real Madrid has reportedly had an offer for RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande rejected. The offer was for an initial fee, plus add-ons. According to one report, Real Madrid is in negotiations with RB Leipzig and has agreed to personal terms with Diomande.
Other clubs, including Liverpool, Paris St-Germain, Arsenal, and Manchester City, are also said to be interested in Diomande. One report indicates that Liverpool has expressed interest in a deal for the player.
Diomande’s Club Preference and Performance
Diomande had previously indicated a preference to join Paris St-Germain earlier in the summer and has reportedly agreed to a contract with them until 2031. However, RB Leipzig is reportedly only willing to sell for an exceptional fee. The president of PSG, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, has held discussions with the German club.
Diomande’s situation has changed with Real Madrid registering their interest, creating competition for his signature. RB Leipzig‘s managing director of sport, Marcel Shafer, stated that their clear intention is for Diomande to play for the club next year, with his existing contract running through the 2029-30 season. Diomande joined RB Leipzig from Spanish side Leganes a year ago. He featured in all four matches for the Ivory Coast during the recent World Cup, helping his nation reach the round of 32. Last season, he scored 12 goals and provided nine assists in 33 Bundesliga matches, missing only one league game due to his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations. RB Leipzig finished third in the Bundesliga, qualifying for the 2026-27 Champions League.
